The Cactus Jack Foundation proudly recognized Mindy Roberts on Saturday night during the 2026 Cactus Jack PRCA Xtreme Bull Riding with one of professional rodeo’s most respected honors — the Justin Boot Award, also known as the John Justin Standard of the West Award.
The Justin Boot Award is presented to a committee member in good standing who consistently delivers remarkable results beyond expectations through dedication, leadership, and service to the sport of rodeo. Recipients are honored with a custom-designed pair of Justin Boots, and their name is submitted to appear on the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association year-end ballot for the Justin Committeeman of the Year Award.
For the Cactus Jack Foundation, the selection of Mindy Roberts represented exactly what the award stands for.
A hardworking member of UCISD and an invaluable volunteer for the Foundation, Roberts has become known for her willingness to step in wherever needed, often working behind the scenes without recognition. Whether helping organize event operations, supporting volunteers, assisting contestants and fans, or handling the countless details that make a major rodeo successful, she has built a reputation for always being dependable and always going above and beyond.
“Mindy is the kind of person every organization hopes to have,” said Foundation representatives. “She works hard, cares deeply about the community, and never hesitates to help. The success of events like The Cactus Jack depends on volunteers and leaders like her.”
The award presentation took place Saturday night in front of rodeo fans gathered at the Uvalde County Fairplex during the final performance of the Cactus Jack PRCA Xtreme Bull Riding.
