While many brought in the new year at parties and friendly gatherings, some cowboys decided to get on something that bucked. And when those cowboys want something to buck, they usually look no further than United Pro Rodeo Company.
United Pro Rodeo Company is the stock contracting firm of the Cactus Jack PRCA Xtreme Bulls and Top Ranch Showdown. They have started a New Year’s tradition at their headquarters in Palestine Texas known as “New Year’s Bucking at the U”. The event featured a bucking horse futurity, saddle bronc riding and ranch bronc riding. Riders from all of the United States, and even Australia, rode into 2024 on top of great bucking stock among friends.
Their ranch bronc riding event was a chance for one lucky rider to qualify for the 2024 Cactus Jack Top Ranch Show Down. As riders were trying to bear down and cowboy up to victory, one man had his sights on Uvalde, Tx.
Dustin Douglas from Howell, Utah rode his way into the top score and punched his ticket to qualify our event in May held at the Uvalde County Fairplex Arena.
The Top Ranch Showdown will be held in conjunction with the Cactus PRCA Xtreme Bull Riding. Riders will be representing local ranches and competing for $25,000.00 in added money. They will receive a trophy buckle and the ranch they are representing will be walking away with their own brand new buckle and all the bragging rights they can dish out!
